Mercury Racing is made up from a selection of some of the best online racing simulation drivers on both sides of the Atlantic. Formed to create a true racing team with some of LFSs quickest and most competitive racers ever to have graced the virtual tarmac.
Many of our members also take part in various other racing sims however we are predominantly focused on LFS activities with various drivers taking part in different racing leagues & competition events. Whilst being a team focused mainly towards racing, we also enjoy taking part in friendly team events and the occassional fun event too.
We will look forward to seeing you on one of our servers, or many others, in the near future.
(V) Mercury Racing Team.
We're glad to announce that Pauli Lehto, also known as plehto in lfsworld, grim in irc, has agreed to join Mercury Racing Team as of today.
Pauli is 23 years old and is rather experienced racer from Finland. He is mainly consentrated in endurance type of racing. Having done several races in leagues such as MoE, LFS-GT and ESCC Pauli will bring much needed fresh blood and valuable experience in to the team.
So we hope he settles in nicely and enjoys wearing the blue
Today Sracer officially agreed to join Mercury Racing after taking a couple of days to mull things over. After using most of this week to sober up, he finally came to his senses this afternoon and agree'd to join. We are delighted to have such a quick and experienced driver on board, and having such a great relationship with Scipy meant the 2 are pretty inseperable, and once he realised there was definately still a place for him in LFS he agreed to join.
We've raced against him on many an occasion, and he's a tricky little nubbin to keep up with, and hopefully now he's a teammate we can just order him to slow down for the rest of us instead . Sracer was instrumental in the success Cyber had in events like MoE, as well as individual driving events, he will add to the fantastic individual driving talent we have as well as great team drivers and we hope these 2 new arrivals will give us the chance to be the first successful team to defend their MoE title when the series starts up again in September, as well as mount challenges in other series.
So we'd like to introduce everyone to (V) P. Purhonen and look forward to seeing him on the track wearing the Mercury colours in future. [read full story]
Earlier today Scipy officially agreed to join Mercury Racing, the crazy Croat has always been someone we've always got on well with, and we've considered a friend of the team just as much as a rival driver.
Thankfully we share the same philosophy when it comes to our racing, serious when we need to be but always up for some fun when the chance arrises, and Scipy is more than capable of doing both at the same time!
So, we're delighted to welcome Sasa into the team, and look forward to racing with him instead of against him in all future events. Keep your eyes peeled... [read full story]
9 months ago, back in August 07 testing began for the Masters of Endurance 07/08 season, the introduction of 2 class racing was to add a new aspect to the series, with 490bhp and now 356bhp restricted versions of the GTR cars on the grid.
A considerable number of laps were done in both the FZR and the XRR in the time leading up to the applications being processed, and despite taking part in last season with the FZR we were confident in our decision to go with the XRR, so much so we felt like last seasons 90% FZR grid, we would see a similar result with the XRR... this wasnt the case. When the line-up was announced including who was driving what, only 7 teams opted for the XRR, compared to 12 FZRs and 1 FXR, with the majority of leading teams opting for the FZR. Some doubt crept in about whether the right decision had been made, but little could be done about it and we just made sure we put in the best performance we could manage. We also decided to field a GT2 class car, one of 3 teams to opt to start with a car in each class, however after 2 rounds the others had found the task too tough and dropped a car, and put their best drivers into a GT2 car while we had to spread our drivers over 2 cars.
